A Message from AMSN President, Jill Arzouman, MS, RN, ACNS, BC, CMSRN

October 21, 2014

Dear Nurse Colleague,

Your courage and skills as a nurse have been brought to the forefront recently with the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). During times like these, the public can truly see what you do every day, as well as your compassion and commitment to your patients.

As nurses and other health care providers work on the frontlines, the CDC, WHO, AHA, ANA, and many other government agencies and organizations are working together to keep the outbreak contained and the public safe.

AMSN is receiving important updates about EVD from nursing and health care organizations, and will be sure to pass on any information you need to know. We have many communication platforms at our disposal and will be using them wisely to keep you informed.

Based on your feedback, as well as input from the AMSN Board of Directors, the association will be:

  • Providing reputable resources and links for you on our website and social media.
  • Working with other organizations to provide calm and proactive leadership.
  • Encouraging each of you to take an active role in educating yourself and others on all aspects of safety and on EVD.

Thank you for being a part of the AMSN community. We are confident that dedicated and extraordinary health care providers like you will continue to meet the challenges EVD has presented. This disease and what we learn from it will certainly provide valuable knowledge on how to contain dangerous diseases and preserve lives worldwide.

I speak for your patients, their families, and your colleagues across the world as I say "Thank You.” Be safe.

Sincerely,

Jill Arzouman, MS, RN, ACNS, BC, CMSRN
AMSN President
