It's All About YOU! - Nurses Celebrating: Lowell General Hospital Celebrates MSNW

by: Robin Collins, MS, BSN, RN, CNML

Hosted by: Lowell General Hospital

The Med-Surg nurses at Lowell General Hospital held the Second Annual Med-Surg mixer. We celebrated on both of our campuses for two full days (November 3 and November 5, 2014).

“It was another great year and we’ve already started to plan next year’s theme -- 'Taste of Italy!'”

This year’s theme was “Carnival.” Med-Surg nurses from all units were highlighted in a slide show that played continuously.

We had wonderful carnival foods throughout the day; the food included a cotton candy maker. We had fun activities, including a photo booth and raffles for gift baskets or $100 American Express gift cards.

The entire hospital celebrated our specialty with over 300 of our colleagues and physicians joining our celebration!

In addition to the fun, each unit made a poster that showcased the unit’s subspecialties, such as General surgery, Orthopedics, and Oncology. Additional Posters were featured, including Palliative Care, AMSN, and our local AMSN chapter.

We also asked all of our nurses for feedback regarding the educational offerings they would like in the coming year.
