Nationally Certified Nurses Day Celebration!

We anticipated Nationally Certified Nurses Day eagerly for months. During the planning to recognize and honor over 300 nurses at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, the Centers of Excellence and Certification took photos of smiling faces for a musical slide show that was projected during a reception held at convenient hours for both day and night shift.

A letter of thanks from our Chief Nurse was sent to their home address with a discount coupon from our in-house uniform shop. The health system’s newsletter ran an article about the significance of March 19. Our certified nurses embrace a top-of-license orientation that improves our patients’ experience and outcomes.

They deserve a supportive, encouraging environment of practice that affords each one opportunities to draw on their own unique meanings, even as we are all mobilized to the same goals. Over 175 of our nurses are certified in the med-surg specialty. Dozens more will be added this year as we are guided by our strategic plan.

This event brought us together to celebrate the special in specialty. Thank you, AMSN for your support and ideas for next year’s Nationally Certified Nurses Day festivities!
